Event Description
BLM Hosting a Shooting Area Clean-Up Day Near Santa Fe ,NM The Bureau of Land Management has scheduled Sunday, May 31st to clean up a shooting area and other areas off of Buckman Road near Santa Fe beginning at 9am. Local sponsors and supporters of the clean up include: Outdoorsman, Tina's Range Gear, Santa Fe County, CH2MHill & Western Summit, Santa Fe Solid Waste Management Agency, and Las Campanas Homeowners Association.
Water will be provided, but volunteers need to bring hats, sunscreen, and gloves. If people have scoop shovels or heavy rakes they are encouraged to bring them.
Access to Buckman is off Hwy 599 onto Camino la Tierra (Las Campanas Subdivision). Take the Old Buckman Road for one-half mile. BLM Public Lands Cleanup signs will be posted on Old Buckman Road.

If you shoot on public lands in New Mexico and are within reasonable driving distance of this area, you would be making a tremendous contribution to the future of recreational shooting on federal lands if you could volunteer your time on May 31st. Comment by David Ciukowski on June 1, 2009 at 10:20pm Thank you, To the about 20 or so people that showed up! We took out 10 yards of trash plus half a trailer full of discarded tires. BLM Ranger says you pack it in, You hall it out, or you do the crime you pay many dimes.
