Event Description

Please join us for a free Community Workshop on the afternoon of March 24th in Santa Fe. This workshop will provide an overview of the objectives and significance of the RACER Project as well as in-depth, hands-on instruction on how people can use their home computer to find sources of environmental contamination resulting from activities at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). RACER provides public access to years of collected environmental data and has recently surpassed 7 million individual records from the area in and around LANL. Do you have questions about what contaminates are present in the environment and where? Would you like to know:

. Is the soil on the Pajarito Plateau contaminated with material from high-explosives? . Where have tritium levels in local groundwater sources exceed national drinking water standards?

At the workshop we will teach you how to find answers to these questions and more using a state-of-the-art website database and Data Analysis Tool called RACER (Risk Anaylsis, Communication, Evaluation, Reduction) located at and administered by the New Mexico Community Foundation (NMCF).

Spaces are limited and must be reserved at or . Stipends are offered to compensate community members' time and efforts in participating in RACER. We look forward to meeting you!
